Wednesday 20 July 2005, a kickoff for the Light the Night blood cancer awareness and fundraising walk was held at EFW this day. The 2005 walk itself took place on Sunday, 16 October 05 at Sundance Square in Ft. Worth, about the same time in October as the 2004 walk.
There are actually half a dozen walks planned for the North Texas area.
Following introductions, we did lunch while a spokesperson from a regional Light the Night office provided an overview of this year's walk.
The highlight of this kickoff meeting was Sam (on the left) and Ethan (on the right) Eisenberg. Sam had leukemia and has recovered very well
because he was able to obtain a perfect bone marrow match - from his brother Ethan! This very inspirational story brought
simultaneous smiles and tears to all of us.
