Birthday #49 for me. At what age do you officially become old? If a person's life expectancy is maybe 80 years, then middle age would be 40. I once heard a 78 year old man say that he would not mind being young again - maybe 50 or so! But he would not want to be any younger than that!

Today was a kickoff gathering and lunch for the Light the Night walk to raise money to fund research to find a cure for blood cancers. I was asked to speak at this event, which I glady did. Looking forward to this my 3rd walk.

Completed the first half of the 16th round of Temodar chemo tonight. Two weeks off now, repeat the half cycle, and then its MRI #17. I have been staying off the Kytril for the past two months so as not to disrupt my digestive system. The risk is that I could throw up the Temodar, but I have returned to strict adherence to the routine for taking the chemo that I have found that works for me, and have not had any major issues.

A birthday party today at mom's house for me (#49 and for brother David #46). Our actual birthdays are still three weeks and one week out, respectively, but family schedules mandate a celebration now. A large time was had by all. This group of people almost makes me want to get older, just to have another excuse to get together. David asserted that he had not played the dominoes game called "42" in 20 years, but he then proceeded to whip us up one wall and down he other, so his claims were called into question...

Received the Breakin' The Ice CD today. The Sweet Comfort Band is still one of my favorite bands. Listening to this CD takes me back to 1978, driving my 1976 Trans Am to Texas A&M.

Began the 16th cycle of Temodar tonight. I'm staying off of the Kytril again, as in the last round, due to digestive tract side effects (constipation). I just have to be careful how I manage this so that I do not wake up at 3 am needing to throw up.

On this date 30 months ago, a brain tumor measuring 4.3 x 4.3 x 3.3 cm was removed from my right temporal lobe. It has been 2 1/2 years since that life changing, life saving event took place. During this time, I have seen the Lord at work in my life in new ways; mostly beginning the process of replacing my fears with His peace. I look forward to the days that lie ahead, knowing that He who brought me this far will stay with me and accomplish exactly what He has purposed from the start. I encourage you to get the big picture.

Austin has been asked to join the Argyle High School Marching band. This means that three Kline boys will be on the field at half time. More than ever, we are looking forward to Friday night football in Texas!
