Today marks the 2nd anniversary of my brain tumor diagnosis (please refer to the MRI clip to the left). I thank the Lord of Hosts for His mercies and lovingkindness. I am looking forward to the days that lie ahead. To help others in their journey. To offer hope, to edify, encourage, build up and introduce folks to Jesus. In fact, my church began a HopeGivers support group last night for this very purpose. A ministry specifically tailored for the chronically ill, those with chronic pain and cancer.

My 13th MRI has been reviewed as clean! CBC results are also favorable, so I begin the 14th round of chemo tomorrow. I appreciate your prayers, emails and letters.

It is 4 o'clock in the morning and I am sitting here in the sunroom enjoying the rain! This is the first rain fall we have seen here in North Texas since the summer of 2005. I had to position six trash cans to catch the water that is leaking into the sun room. The soil all around our house has shifted due to the drought (we have been watering the foundation regularly), and one particular glass panel in the 'roof' is leaking around the seals. These leaks are a bummer, but the rain is a huge blessing and makes dealing with the leaks at this early hour a trivial matter!

My 13th post-op MRI was performed today. The films look great to me and I believe that I am still clean, but I will know for sure at the oncologist's appointment on Monday, 1/23/06. I appreciate everyone's prayers!

I completed all of the steps this morning necessary to transfer the registration of my Trans Am from Michigan to Texas. This involved getting insurance, passing a safety inspection, providing the county with documents such as a notarized Bill of Sale and a properly completed Michigan title, filling out the state forms for title and registration and then paying the sales tax and other fees.

When I pulled into the Kwik Kar shop this morning for the inspection, I had to wait for another car in front of me to be processed. But while sitting there, listening to the melodic rumble of the engine, I watched as each mechanic and technician begin to make their way out of the service garage to see the Trans Am. They initially kept their distance, as if viewing a celebrity. The Kwik Kar staff ended up being horizontally stacked, cascaded in a row as each tried to position themselves to see the car. I enjoyed seeing them point, smile, talk amongst themselves and even celebrate the arrival of a classic car such as this one to Argyle. Many questions ensued and this was the first time that getting a vehicle inspection was an enjoyable activity. It was worth the $13 fee (safety inspection only for cars older than 24 years) just for the entertainment value./font>

It was two years ago today that my story began, for on this day in 2004 I had my first headache caused by the tumor. Of course I did not know the cause of the headache at the time - all I knew was that I experienced something similar to a 'brain freeze' that you sometimes can get from an ICEE or Slurpee if you drink it too fast. 12 bi-monthly MRIs and 23 months later, I am still clean by the grace of God. My next MRI is 20 January 2006. It is interesting to complete my 13th round of chemo on the two year anniversary of the day it all began.

My extended hunt for another 1976 Trans Am to replace my original Trans Am has ended with the arrival of the car this evening!
