Commencement for the 2008 class of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. My niece Joanna is among the graduates.

Aric and I are at Sea World in San Antonio with the rest of the Argyle Hilltop Elementary School 5th grade. In case you are wondering what a sleepover at a park has to do with a brain tumor story, I will tell you: the sleepover has everything to do with this tale. The objective is to demonstrate that a gbm person can still be plugged into life and be involved, even in an event such as this one that required much walking in the hot sun and sleeping on the floor in the penguin house. I am sending a message to the tumor and to my immune system by participating. I am sending a message to Aric by being with him. I am sending a message to you as you read this post: a message of hope and encouragement. If I can do this, so can you!

A synopsis of my survivor story has been posted on CNN.com, including a brief audio clip. Not sure how long these posts will remain active.

The wedding of a nice niece and a nice guy. It seems like just yesterday that Kathy and I married, but we are approaching our 25th anniversary!

Scan #29 has been reviewed as clean! The film images look great and I am grateful for your prayers, pages and the grace extended to me from the Lord. CBC tests look good as well.

A triple header today:

  • My 29th post operative MRI was conducted and my review of the film suggests that I am still clean!
  • A photo essay of my 2nd trip to Moldova has been posted
  • The Trans Am has been retrieved from the shop after a minor adjustment to the new brakes

  • Moldova trip #2 was very different from trip #1 in scope and purpose by design.

    Tuesday, 06 May 08
The Trans Am is ready for pickup, having been in shop for three weeks for a complete brake system replacement. It is more difficult to find replacement parts for a vehicle that is 32 years old than for a contemporary car.

I'm back from Moldova with an arm full of pictures and memories. The return trip was uneventful - the best type of travel.
